Info about Stand Watie Scholarships, the Sam Davis Youth Camps and our 2012 National Reunion are included. Did you know the SCV once owned Manassas Battlefield Park? Well, we did and we gave it to the Park Service in 1942. Read all about it in the January/February issue.

It is only the second statue of General Johnston. Inside, our feature article is the 12th Georgia Regiment at Gettysburg. I spoke with our printer late yesterday afternoon and was informed our March/April issue will be mailed no later than February 20.

I attended the S.D. Lee Institute in Charleston, SC, last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my first one and I strongly encourage everyone to attend in the future. I know I will.

Hi! During my trip to the grand re-opening of Beauvoir during the first week of June, I realized the Confederate Veteran magazine needed a presence on the Internet. I decided to start this blog as a beginning. I don't really have anything profound to say, but the Veteran is an information source to our members. However, in the 21st Century, information is transmitted faster than ever before in history. I felt this would be a good way to let SCV members know about their magazine.
